-If you are having difficulty with the microphone
volume utilizing the ASB2200 amplifier please read the following:
In addition to following the
set-up outlined in the ASB2200 Manual, and the Troubleshooting tips below,
please NOTE- The ASB2200 has TWO RADIAL ADJUSTMENT DIALS located in the
front of the unit on either side of the RJ11 headset jack. The left
adjustment dial controls the gain on the headset speakers, the right
adjustment dial controls the gain on the headset microphone. Turning either

| Headsets - General Inquiries |
|
| I tried to directly connect an Accutone headset to
my telephone and there's no response. |
|
- The pin-alignment for each telephone set is different, and
although the Accutone headsets may fit with some brand of telephones,
there are others that do not match. - You will need a telephone adaptor
from Accutone series, C100 or C333. |
|
|
I am using Accutone's telephone adaptor C100 with my
other brand telephone headset, and it doesn't work. |
|
- Accutone's telephone adaptor connects to an Accutone headset via
a preset pin-alignment, other brand headset with a different pin alignment
may not work. - The telephone adaptor only configures the connection
to the telephone, so we recommend you use the adaptor with an Accutone
headset. |
|
| I am using Accutone's telephone adaptor with an
Accutone headset, but the microphone volume is really low. Person on the
other end cannot hear me. |
|
- Different telephone models may use different types of microphone
in their handset, and because our headset connects to the handset jack,
some telephone (usually older versions) will require an amplification for
the microphone to work. - You will have to use an amplifier to pair
with this telephone, consider Apollo Series 1100 or 1200. |

| Special Section
for USB300 - on Microsoft 98SE uhcd.sys update patch
problem |
|
It has been reported that in some Windows 98SE configuration PC,
especially those using AMD processor (running at 350MHz or faster) or PC
that uses VIA Technologies USB Controller, the Accutone USB AU300 Audio
Adaptor does not function properly.
Problems include: - User
interface does not show "Accutone USB Audio Adaptor" - Microphone
muting function does not operate properly - Volume adjustments reset
upon pressing/releasing the mute button
Solution: Make sure that
you have installed your USB driver first, check your device manager to
ensure the following drivers: (These entries can be under USB interface
section or Sound, Video and Game Controller section of the Device
Manager) (1) USB Root Hub (2) HID-Compliant Host Controller OR USB
Composite Device (3) USB Audio Device (usually under Sound, Video &
Game section)
Then download the updated patch of uhcd.sys file from
Microsoft's website, and upon installation restart your PC. If after
restarting your PC, there is still no response, open up Sound and
Multimedia in Control Panel, and go into Audio tab, make sure the
Preferred Device is selected with USB Audio Device or Accutone USB Audio
Adaptor. (The name of the drive does not affect the proper function of the
device, be it USB Audio Device or Accutone USB Audio Adaptor.)
Then
verified by making sure the Microphone option is checked, and that the
volume is not muted. |

configuration switch until you can hear one. (22) If you
can hear a dial tone, but the microphone doesn't seem to work on all
6-position, find a position where there's a clear dial tone. (23)
Slowly increase the MICROPHONE VOLUME slide switch (or rotary switch for
1100), until you can slightly hear yourself speaking. (24) Remember NOT
to set the microphone volume too high, feedback (squealing) sound may

be able to function fine, if it still doesn't work, contact your
distributor.
